Love, for the Day is near
I know I talk about Love.ย I can’t help it!ย It’s in me, around me, coming out of me, and is who I am called to be (and to do).ย I hope you don’t get tired of hearing about Love – because He doesn’t get tired of you! ๐ I just wanted to encourage you all today with what I was reading in my devotions this morning. Romans 13:8-14 โLet no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt … Read entire article »

Disillusioned with organized church/religion
AliveNewFreshPowerfulRealAuthenticPassionate These, and many other adjectives, seem to be the buzz-words of this generation. “I’m not going to church anymore because it’s just not alive . . . authentic . . . real. . . etc . . . I’m really discontent and disillusioned with the organized church. I need something more – and I’m not finding it at church.” I hear many similar statements all around me. I, myself, have felt quite discontent over the past few years. It surprised me at first. What was wrong? Was it me? Was it the pastor? Was it the preaching . . . the worship? Was it just this church? Should I go somewhere else? I was ready to leave. I wasn’t … Read entire article »

Sick of hearing about God?
After having, what I thought was, a meaningful conversation about God with several of our kids a couple nights ago – our 5 year old said to us very seriously – “Mom . . . can you stop talking about God all the time? It is making me sick!” I have to admit – my husband and I laughed. My daughter didn’t find it funny. She also didn’t see our point of view – to put herself in God’s shoes . . . what if we said the same thing about her? . . . “Honey – can you please stop talking about our daughter. It’s making me sick!” How would that make her feel? (To her defense – she was quite tired and cranky … Read entire article »
Fast & Pray for our Nation, Muslims & the President
You may already be aware, but just in case you were not – I wanted to pass on this info. My heart has been heavy for the past couple days after hearing about this. I can feel the urgency to pray. I can’t sit silent. On Friday 9/25/09 Muslims will converge on Washington DC’s mall for a national day of prayer. Please pray about this. Please read what Lou Engle, Shirley Dobson, Tony Perkins and others had to say on Lou’s website – The Call. Hearing what President Obama has done (in staying silent for the National Day of prayer, but being very vocal and encouraging about Ramadan) just grieves my heart. He is on my heart and in my prayers as well . . … Read entire article »

The Bible Bill
The Bible bill? – Yahoo! News Source: news.yahoo.com When the clock strikes midnight on Dec. 31, 2009, Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) hopes youโll be ringing in โthe Year of the Bible.โ This article just makes me want to cry! I am grieving over our country today! Christianity on the decline? Atheism on the rise? . . . and we want to focus on healthcare issues instead of what’s really important?? What’s wrong with people?? Especially those that call themselves Christians?? Our lawmakers and leaders (including some “Christians”) want to focus on the “blooms” and “flowers” that are dying – trying to keep them alive – but what they really need to focus on is the “roots” of the plant/tree. If the roots are unhealthy – then it … Read entire article »

"My Favrit Book . . . "
I just had to post this! My 6 year old, 1st grader, had to write (in public school) about his favorite book. The above pictures are what he wrote! You go son!! ๐ Here is what it says: “My favrit book is the Bible. It tells abot holy stuf. It has a old tesment and a new testment. It shows a part of a glob(e) at the back of the book. This book is holy.” Who says you can’t talk about God or the Bible in school?! ๐ And he sure is right . . . it IS holy and it DOES talk about holy stuff! ๐ Oh – the word “David” and the arrow is pointing to the arm of the person holding the Bible. I … Read entire article »

Your Father’s Love
I can’t begin to explain or tell you how much I desire for each of you to fully know and understand the love that our heavenly Father has for each of you . . . all His children! His true and overwhelming love! If you do not know or understand what I am talking about – I encourage you to take the time today to watch/listen to THIS WEBCAST of James Jordan talking about the Father’s love (put on by CBN.c0m). It just may change your life!! It was the love of the Father – understanding it and experiencing it – that totally changed my life (in many ways and on many levels) and my spiritual walk with the Lord! It changed my faith from … Read entire article »

Catch the Fire!
I have thoroughly been enjoying the Catch the Fire conference at CBN this week (click the link to watch online). God has been touching so many lives – healing people from physical sickness and pain as well as emotional, mental and spiritual issues. God is AWESOME!!! I know that many people are leary and unsure about all the “manifestations” – the shaking, falling down, laughing, etc that goes on at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship and the Catch the Fire Ministries. I was too at first. However, I loved what Duncan Smith said tonight at the conference about it! He said “I’m a man that is just trying to cope with God on the inside of my skin!” Just imagine . . . the God of the whole universe … Read entire article »

The Super Bowl and the Super-Natural
I’ve said it before . . . but this year I want my family to live in the supernatural! I am tired of the ordinary. I believe God is calling all of us to live more in His presence than ever before! He WANTS to release His power to perform miracles (healings, provision and more). He wants to release His power to transform lives. Time is crucial! There is no more time to be sitting around on the sidelines just waiting for things to happen. We have to get out there and bring in the harvest. We need to minister to those around us. We need to get our eyes off of ourselves – our selfish desires, our needs and wants, our “future ministry” – and focus on the … Read entire article »

Today is a day to Fight!
Yesterday was a good day! I woke up for church and hopped in the shower as usual. I wasn’t terribly excited about going to church. Lately it had has felt like . . . church . . . like religion. . . not like the living, active, exciting, ever-changing relationship and celebration that it used to be. I don’t want church. I don’t want to start off with a hymn, sing 3 worship songs – 1 slow, 1 upbeat and 1 multi-cultural, then sit down, watch and listen to the announcements, give our tithe, say hello to everyone as we shuffle off the kids to their classes, then sit and listen to the pastor preach a good sermon, but end on time so as to keep the … Read entire article »
