True Beauty: Deny Yourself Once again, I was blessed to be able to work with David C. Cook to review Lisa Chan’s (wife of best-selling author and pastor Francis Chan) 2nd installment of her 3-part True Beauty Series. Last fall I reviewed the first in the series called Be Still and was able to bless one of my readers with a copy. As with last time, I will also be giving away a copy of this … Read entire article »

Love, for the Day is near

Love, for the Day is near

I know I talk about Love.ย  I can’t help it!ย  It’s in me, around me, coming out of me, and is who I am called to be (and to do).ย  I hope you don’t get tired of hearing about Love – because He doesn’t get tired of you! ๐Ÿ™‚ I just wanted to encourage you all today with what I was reading in my devotions this morning. Romans 13:8-14 โ€œLet no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt … Read entire article »

2011 – Love-Laugh-Live

Wow โ€“ the start of a new year! I love the start of a new year. Itโ€™s sad in a way to see the last year go (and go by so fast) โ€“but usually, by November/December โ€“ I am looking forward to the new year โ€“ to a new chapter โ€“ a turning of the page โ€“ a new leaf and season. Of course โ€“ today didnโ€™t turn out as I had thought it would. I had plans to sit down and play with my kids, pray over them, strategize with my hubby (and on my own) and just start the year off right โ€“ on the right foot โ€“ with a clear head โ€“ knowing where I was going and what I was going to do this year. Instead โ€“ … Read entire article »

What are you Soaking in Today?

I know I haven’t posted in awhile – but as I mentioned in a previous post or two – I started taking classes in January. I’m part of a School of Supernatural Ministry here locally, but we are using the curriculum from Bethel’s School of Supernatural Ministry out in Redding, California. I also said this before too – but if you haven’t checked out this church, what it’s doing, what they teach and preach . . . you need to! Their church is not only changing their city – but their reach is spreading across the globe – to bring healing, deliverance, salvation, love and power to the world! Bill Johnson – head pastor (as well as other pastors and leaders from that church – Kris Vallotton and Danny … Read entire article »

Facebook – I am a "Friend" of God!

Today in church we were singing the song “I am a friend of God”. I started smiling as I thought about the term “friend” and what it has come to mean in today’s society. In fact, “un-friend” was one of the most popular (new) words in 2009. Why? Because of the social networking site Facebook. Are you a part of the Facebook community? At first I wasn’t so sure I wanted to join (I never did get into MySpace) – but then once I joined, I was tickled pink to find not only my current friends and family, but friends all over the world and America – from my time overseas in YWAM (Youth With A Mission), high school, junior high (in sunny FL) – and even … Read entire article »

ARISE Bride of Christ!

At our church’s morning prayer โ€“ Pictures during worship: God and I walking arm in arm. Instead of me being on a โ€œleashโ€ (where God never lets go of me, but gives me freedom to wander) walking separately from God, or even walking hand in hand โ€“ we were walking arm in arm (I was on his left side). This way he was able to support me โ€“ keep me from falling if I started to trip on a rock or … Read entire article »

Jesus loves me this I know . . .

We ALL know the children’s song “Jesus loves me”! We probably can’t even count the number of times we have sung that song throughout our lifetime . . . 100 times? 200? 1000? More? Jesus loves me this I know. For the Bible tells me so.Little ones to Him belong. They are weak, but He is strong. Yes . . . Jesus loves me.Yes . . . Jesus loves me.Yes . . . Jesus loves me.The Bible tells me so. I had an interesting conversation with one of my sisters recently. She has been struggling with severe anxiety and depression for several months now, but the Lord has been graciously healing her and is slowly bringing her out of the deepest valley she has ever experienced. She is … Read entire article »

Twilight – To read/watch or not?

One of the bloggers I occasionally follow recently posted a question to her readers that I was definitely interested in. I was looking forward to reading everyone’s comments about this topic – a controversial one within the Christian community (We have alot of “controversial topics” – don’t we? Jesus himself was controversial in His time too!). It was on the topic of the books and movie – “Twilight”. Here’s her post on Praise and Coffee. Below is my response to her query. Don’t be afraid to go DEEP! Lori ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve been reading the GREATEST love story ever!! I can’t get enough of it! It is full of mystery, wars, lust, adultery, betrayal, miracles, death, and more! Have you read it?! . . . If not – … Read entire article »

Fresh Produce . . . Now Open!

Fresh Produce . . . Now Open!

As I drove home a few days ago, I passed by a sign Iโ€™ve driven past hundreds of times before. It sits outside a scarcely frequented family owned produce shack near our house. I used to marvel at the consistency, dependability and patience of the older gentleman that would sit in his lawn chair day after day, all day long โ€“ just waiting for the few customers that would occasionally stop by to purchase … Read entire article »
