Why we don’t come near to God.

Why we don’t come near to God.

I thought I would share my latest Sunday Sip post from my Mothering-Matters.com blog with you all today. It was not specifically geared towards just moms – and I felt like there was someone here that needed to hear this. If that’s you – please let me know! It always encourages me to hear that what I’m pouring out is actually quenching the needs and thirst of others – watering them to bring refreshment, growth, and more! Enjoy!   Image … Read entire article »

Psalm 38 – Is your life falling apart?

Psalm 38 – Is your life falling apart?

David was sick – he had sinned – his friends all avoided him – his enemies were out to see his ruin – these burdens were “too heavy to bear” – he was “utterly crushed” and his heart anguished. And yet, he declares – “I will wait for you, O Lord, you WILL answer, O Lord my God.” (Ps.38:15) In the end of the Psalm he asks God to “not forsake me . . . not … Read entire article »

OK 2 Be U(nique)!

OK 2 Be U(nique)!

There is only one you! Did you know that? Of course you did. 🙂 Do you remember when you learned about your unique fingerprints . . . or how about your one-of-a-kind DNA? I know you noticed the differences in everyone’s hair and skin color, height, width, the shape of our eyes, nose, ears, hips and yes – even our thighs.  🙂 So, if we know we are all different and that there is no one like us –  then … Read entire article »

Happy Valentine’s Day! You are LOVED!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I had wanted to say Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you earlier today, but I ended spending the day preparing to surprise my kids and hubby with a turkey dinner, “fancy” decorations for the table (including the “good” plates and glasses), homemade Valentine’s cards for the kids (that started off going to be just a simple cut out heart – but I got carried away cutting hearts!), Fundamiddles cupcakes and more! Currently my 9 year old just taught me how to play Texas Hold’em with him and his 7 year old sister (probably good ages for me to play against – as I don’t have a clue what I’m doing!). Then later we are using our FREE Redbox code we got on Facebook for Valentine’s to watch … Read entire article »

You are (already) LOVED!!

You are (already) LOVED!!

“She’ll kill herself trying to earn my love – when it’s hers already.” – Michael Hosea from the book Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers You are LOVED! The quote above hit me this morning as I was listening to this book on CD. You truly are loved . . . . already! There is nothing that you (as a mom, wife, friend, worker, nurse, teacher, doctor, etc) have to do, have done, need to do, or will do that will … Read entire article »

Feeling Hopeless & Helpless in a Dark Time? No way out?

Feeling Hopeless & Helpless in a Dark Time? No way out?

Hopeless and Helpless Every person who has walked the face of this earth has most likely experienced a time in their life that felt dark. The degree to which that darkness surrounds and invades our lives can vary greatly.  Many of you are in a season, a prison, a dark room in which you WISH there was light coming in from a window at least like the vision in this picture.  But many of you are in … Read entire article »
